Understanding Hormone Migraine

Headaches and migraines are frequently associated with menstrual cycle hormone fluctuations in reproductive women. There is a fine balance between the hormones estrogen and progesterone. If there is a disruption to one or both hormones, this is often reflected in hormone migraines. Hormone headaches and migraine frequently occur in the days leading up to menstrual bleeding and are primarily due to insufficient progesterone or estrogen dominance.

Subject: PROGESTERONE CREAM

Hi

I am having a terrible menopause which seems to get worse every day - (I'm sure you have heard this before).  Apparently I have zero oestrogen on blood tests.

Luckily I recall a Pharmacist discussing Androfeme at a womens' interest group in Bunbury several years ago when I lived in WA.  I have been contemplating HRT etc but have "bridging" of myocardial LAD therefore would be better off with more natural medication. Not taking medication for heart condition and those symptoms are settling.

Have found UK Serenity cream - wondering if your progesterone cream is similar and would you recommend it for significant hot flushes, no libido, foggy brain etc etc.  I would prefer Australian invention and preparation. Also anywhere I could purchase on Gold Coast?

Kind regards

- R Green

Hello Rxxxxx

Thank you for your email.

ProFeme progesterone cream contains progesterone like Serenity. The difference is ProFeme is made to pharmaceutical standards whereas Serenity is cosmetic grade. The difference is in the quality of raw materials, manufacture and efficacy.

I have attached a number of booklets which provide general and specific information about menopausal symptoms and the use of progesterone to manage these. Because of your medical history I would like to check on a couple of things before advising you specifically. Are you available to have a phone discussion on Tuesday (Monday is a public holiday in WA).

To obtain ProFeme you will need to see a doctor and obtain a prescription if you are resident in Australia. We can discuss in detail when we speak next week.

Please advise me of your phone number and a convenient time to call or call me on 1800 627 506

Yours sincerely
